This page is to warn other bands of the sleaze-ball fuck-heads that will do all they can to take advantage of you and take as much of your money as they can.

These are companies that either Braintree or other bands have had first hand experience with that have ripped us off.  I beleive that we as local bands should do what we can to help each other out, and to send a message to these vultures that we will not tollerate them.

Remember to research everything as much as you can, and learn from our bad mistakes.  Educate yourselves.  Read every and any book you can on the music buisiness.  Protect yourself!

Unfortunately, I can not reveal the real names of these companies and the worthless piles of dog shit that work there, because there are actually laws that protect these screw-balls even though all that follows is the total truth.  (I love America.)

    I have had first hand experience with the company that is first on our list of ass-holes to look out for.  I so much wish that I could say exactly who this is, but like I said, even though it is the truth, they can sue me if I do.  This guy asked for some money up front to send our stuff to various record labels, and kept telling us how interested these companies were and how they wanted to start negotiating record deals and so on.
    This person seemed legitimate enough in the beginning; he only asked for a little bit of money up front ($400.00) to "cover his costs" and he was a member of The Better Business Bureau.  We soon came to find out that none of these labels that were supposedly interested in us, even heard of us.  The names of the people that worked for these labels that this shit-head dropped, told us when we contacted them that no press kits or information about our band was ever sent to them.
    We have come to find out that we are not the only one's that this guys has fucked.  There is a pretty sizable list of bands that this dick-head has done equally bad, if not worse, things to.  We have successfully gotten our money back from him, but it was not easy.
    This guy is apperently a member of the Better Business Bureau, and actually has good standing with them.  So be warned that just because someone tells you this, and it happens to be true, does not mean that they are legitimate.  Also, there is only so much information that even the B.B.B. can give you, so according to the info they give you, a potential ripp-off artist could be sitting pretty.  Please be kind to your fellow local band brotheren and report these ass-holes the B.B.B. if they are members and rip you off.  It may not seem like it, but it does help in the long run.  We have done this with this guy.
    Again, I can not say who this fuck is, but he has branches in both Illinois and Arizona, and his company name has the word "talent" in it, and a number just higher than 1999.  If you do wind up signing with him, your first tip off will be that he will not return a single phone call to you after you have signed the contract.  He will also be "mysteriously" never able to answer the phone for one reason or another.  And when you happen to "catch" him on the phone, he will most likely put you on hold and the connection will be "accidentally" cut off.
